The Colombo Magistrate's Court has temporarily relaxed the overseas travel ban imposed on former Minister Prasanna Ranatunga. Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued the order on July 14th, following a request by Ranatunga's counsel, President's Counsel Anil Silva, for a personal trip. The former minister sought permission to travel abroad between July 13th and August 2nd. The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) stated it had no objection to the temporary lifting of the ban, which is related to a corruption case.
