The Colombo Special High Court has rejected a request by former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundera to introduce new facts to a statement he previously made from the dock. The decision was delivered today by a three-member bench presided over by Justice Priyantha Liyanage. Jayasundera is an accused in a case concerning charges of criminal negligence of duty. These charges stem from his alleged failure to prevent the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks, despite receiving prior intelligence warnings.

The Colombo High Court trial-at-bar rejected former IGP Pujith Jayasundara's request to add new information to his statement made from the dock in the Easter Sunday terror attacks case. His attorney informed the court that his client had unintentionally left out two matters. The order was delivered by a three-judge bench comprising Justices Priyantha Liyanage, Viraj Weerasuriya, and Thilakaratne Bandara.
