Court Recalls Arrest Warrants for Aravinda de Silva and Wife Over Funeral Absence

The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court has recalled arrest warrants issued for former Sri Lankan cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife, Priyanga Anushka Wijenayake. The warrants were initially issued after the couple failed to appear in court on September 16th. Their legal representative, President's Counsel Nalin Ladduwahetty, successfully argued that their absence was due to attending their mother's funeral. The couple had been summoned as guarantors for a suspect in a case concerning alleged financial irregularities during the acquisition of new aircraft for SriLankan Airlines.
