Court of Appeal to Hear Yoshitha Rajapaksa's Revision Petition on Money Laundering Charge; Colombo High Court Postpones Case

The Court of Appeal has granted permission to hear a revision petition filed by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The petition challenges a Colombo High Court order that allowed a conspiracy charge under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to proceed against him. The Court of Appeal has scheduled the hearing for this revision petition for June 16. In a separate development, the Colombo High Court has postponed the main case proceedings related to the money laundering charges until July 9. Yoshitha Rajapaksa was present in court for the proceedings.
