Court of Appeal Dismisses MP Dilith Jayawickrema's Contempt Petition

The Court of Appeal has dismissed a writ petition filed by Member of Parliament Dilith Jayawickrema. The petition sought to quash a conclusion reached by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court, which had accused the MP of contempt of court. In its decision, the Court of Appeal dismissed the petition without a full hearing. The ruling was delivered by a three-judge bench presided over by Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya.
