Couple Arrested in Polonnaruwa with Significant 'Ice' Drug Haul

Authorities apprehended a young couple, aged 24 and 22, in the 28th Mile Post area of Polonnaruwa for allegedly transporting Crystal methamphetamine ('Ice'). The arrests were made by the Polonnaruwa Anti-Corruption Unit during a raid conducted on a tip-off. Police recovered a luxury vehicle believed to have been used in the operation. While one report indicates over 78 grams of 'Ice' were seized, another specifies 27 grams from the male suspect and 6,310 milligrams from the female suspect. The couple, identified as residents of Katana and Kuliyapitiya, were taken into custody.
