Container Trucks Overturn, Disrupting Traffic on Major Routes

Two separate incidents involving overturned container trucks have caused significant traffic disruptions on major Sri Lankan roadways. On the afternoon of July 8th, a container truck overturned at the Orugodawatta Junction in Grandpass, Colombo, blocking two lanes of the Dematagoda-Peliyagoda route and prompting police diversions. Earlier, on July 29th, a container truck overturned near Gonapola Junction on the Horana-Colombo Road, obstructing one lane. Police are investigating both incidents, with speed suspected as a factor in the latter case.
