Colombo Water Cut Extended into September 5th Amidst Pipeline Repairs

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced an extension of the water supply interruption affecting Colombo suburbs. The cut, initially scheduled to end at 8 PM on September 4th, has been extended until 11:30 PM on September 4th due to ongoing repair work on a leak in the transmission pipeline. An additional report indicates the interruption may extend further, potentially affecting supply until 11:30 PM on September 5th, citing essential maintenance on the Ambatale-Dehiwala transmission pipeline near Diyatha Uyana.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has identified additional areas affected by the 24-hour water cut, scheduled from 8 PM on September 3rd to 8 PM on September 4th. New locations now confirmed to experience the disruption include Bank Handiya Road, W.A. Silva Mawatha, Havelock Road, Kalyani Road, Colombo 06 Hospital Roundabout Road, Jayanthi Mawatha, and Shanthi Mawatha, in addition to previously listed suburbs and areas.
