Colombo Marathon 2026 Approved for September 13, Coinciding with National Sports Festival

The Colombo Marathon 2026 has received cabinet approval and is scheduled to take place on September 13 at the Galle Face Grounds. The international event will run concurrently with the 50th National Sports Festival. Organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Department of Sports Development, the marathon aims to promote sports culture and tourism. The competition will feature a full marathon, half marathon, 10 km run, and a 5 km Fun Run, with over 5,000 athletes expected to participate, making it one of the largest events of its kind.
