Colombo High Court Orders Summons for Indian Witnesses in Namal Rajapaksa's Krrish Case

The Colombo High Court has ordered that summons for two Indian witnesses in the Namal Rajapaksa 'Krrish' transaction case be issued via diplomatic channels. This directive was issued by High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Suwandurugoda after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the court that it was difficult to directly contact the witnesses. The court instructed authorities to proceed under the Judicial Service Commission’s circular provisions for issuing summons to foreign witnesses, utilizing a special official procedure. The judge also reportedly commented that the prosecution appeared to be acting irresponsibly.
