Colombo High Court Orders Arrest of Witness in Johnston Fernando Corruption Case

The Colombo High Court has issued an arrest warrant for a witness in a corruption case filed against former Minister Johnston Fernando and two co-defendants. The accused are alleged to have committed corruption by diverting Lanka Sathosa employees from their official duties to engage in political activities during Fernando's tenure as Minister of Trade. The warrant was issued after the twelfth witness in the case failed to appear in court on May 5th to provide testimony. Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal issued the order for the witness's arrest and production before the court.
