CIABOC Warns Public Officials: Asset Declarations Due June 30, Penalties Loom

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has issued a stern warning to all public officials regarding the submission of their annual asset and liability declarations. The deadline for these declarations is June 30, 2026, with CIABOC Director General Ranga Dissanayake emphasizing that non-compliance will lead to mandatory penalties. Officials failing to submit their statements by the stipulated date will face legal action and substantial fines under Section 80(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act (Act No. 9 of 2023). This year also marks a shift to an exclusively online system for submitting these crucial financial disclosures.
