The Chinese government has agreed to provide a shipment of refined fuel to Sri Lanka, according to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC). Discussions are currently ongoing to finalize specific details such as the type and quantity of fuel, as well as the exact delivery schedule. A special meeting is slated for April 6 to reach a final agreement on these particulars. Despite ongoing talks, the first consignment of fuel is anticipated to arrive by mid-April. This agreement follows Sri Lanka's requests for fuel assistance from China, in addition to support from India and Russia, with Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong citing Sri Lanka's critical fuel situation as a reason for their assistance.
