Cabinet Approves Rs. 819 Million Contract for Malabe-Kaduwela Road Upgrade

The Cabinet of Ministers has given its approval for the awarding of a Rs. 819 million contract to upgrade a 5.56-kilometre stretch of the Malabe-Kaduwela Road (B 263). This project falls under the National Highways Widening and Improvement Programme and was processed via a national competitive procurement procedure, which saw eight bids submitted. Following a recommendation from the High-Level Procurement Committee, the contract has been awarded to M/s Senarath Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, identified as the lowest responsive bidder. The upgrade is anticipated to enhance regional connectivity.
