Cabinet Approves Rs. 581 Million for 'Mithuru Purawara' Town Development Initiative

The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval for the 'Mithuru Purawara' initiative, a government program aimed at developing 25 selected towns across the island. This initiative, proposed under the 2026 Budget, seeks to enhance small towns for the convenience and well-being of local communities. Under the program, one priority development project has been identified for each town, with plans to complete these projects by 2026. An estimated Rs. 581 million has been allocated for these development efforts, which will be implemented under the 'Clean Sri Lanka' programme.
