Bread Price Hiked by Rs. 10, Short Eats Up Rs. 5 Across Sri Lanka

Consumers in Sri Lanka will now pay more for essential bakery items following price adjustments announced by industry associations. The price of a 450-gram loaf of bread has been increased by Rs. 10, effective from midnight today, according to the All Island Bakery Owners' Association. Additionally, the All Island Restaurants and Caterers' Association has stated that prices for various short eats, including paratha, egg roti, and patties, have risen by Rs. 5. These increases are reportedly a direct consequence of a recent hike in wheat flour prices.
