Bottled Water Prices Increased Across Sri Lanka Effective Today

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has announced an increase in the maximum retail prices for locally packaged and bottled drinking water, effective from June 10th. A revised gazette notification details the new price caps, which will impact various bottle sizes. For instance, 500ml to 999ml bottles will now have a maximum price of Rs. 80, up from Rs. 70. Larger sizes also see adjustments, with 1L to 1.49L bottles capped at Rs. 120 and 5L to 6.99L bottles at Rs. 400. The CAA has prohibited sellers from exceeding these new maximum prices.
