A bus transporting apparel factory workers overturned into a paddy field along Diyagama Road in Kahathuduwa on the afternoon of May 25th, injuring 19 people. The incident occurred when the bus reportedly veered off the road while attempting to make way for another vehicle. Seventeen of the injured were admitted to Homagama Hospital, with one each taken to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital and Wethara Hospital. Police have stated that none of the injuries are life-threatening.
