Anak Krakatau Eruption Disrupts Air Travel, SriLankan Airlines Reroutes Flights

Indonesia's Anak Krakatau volcano erupted, spewing ash clouds that have disrupted air travel. This led to SriLankan Airlines cancelling its scheduled flights between Colombo and Jakarta (UL 364 and UL 365) and rerouting other services from Australia. Indonesian aviation authorities suspended operations at several airports, including Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, due to the risks posed by volcanic ash to aircraft engines and control systems. The disruptions have affected approximately 150,000 passengers. The volcano, located between Java and Sumatra, began its activity on Friday.
