Police have discovered a significant cache of 109 live rounds in the Meetiyagoda area, following the arrest of four individuals linked to organized crime figure Sobana Handi Jayalath de Silva, also known as Karandeniya Sudda. The arrests took place on October 29th and 30th, with some suspects apprehended at the residence of Karandeniya Sudda's brother, Sanath de Silva alias Raju. Based on information obtained from the detained suspects, officers from the Meetiyagoda Police and the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) located the ammunition, which included 96 T-56 rounds and 13 9mm rounds, buried behind a suspect's house and in a paddy field. Additionally, a revolver, 6 live rounds, and a quantity of heroin were seized during the initial arrests, which were reportedly made while the suspects were planning a murder.
