Adverse weather conditions across Sri Lanka have resulted in two fatalities, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC). The deaths were reported in the Batticaloa and Jaffna districts. A total of 3,475 individuals from 1,113 families across eight districts have been impacted by the inclement weather. Consequently, 104 people have been moved to two temporary safety shelters, and 88 houses have suffered partial damage. In related developments, 21 main reservoirs and 19 medium-scale reservoirs have opened their spill gates due to the ongoing weather situation.
