Twenty-one individuals deported from Dubai, suspected of involvement in organized crime and drug trafficking, have arrived in Sri Lanka. The flight carrying the suspects, reportedly including underworld figures “Mahawatte Chamara” and “Kudu Duminda,” was diverted to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport due to adverse weather conditions near Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). Upon arrival, the group was immediately taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Police state the suspects allegedly operated crime syndicates and drug networks in Sri Lanka while living abroad for an extended period. Further investigations are underway regarding the individuals.
