The results for the 2026 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination have been officially released by the Department of Examinations. The significant assessment, held on August 9th across 2,723 centres islandwide, saw 294,089 students sit for the exam. Candidates can now access their results online through the Department of Examinations' official website, www.doenets.lk. The examination included 220,366 candidates in the Sinhala medium and 73,723 in the Tamil medium.

The 2026 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination saw 56,000 students score above the cut-off mark. Of the 294,132 students who applied, 289,867 sat for the exam. The highest score in Sinhala medium was 193 marks (Kurunegala District), and the highest in Tamil medium was 188 marks (Jaffna District). A total of 1,018 students with special needs also participated.
