Sri Lanka Police have issued Red Notices for 226 individuals wanted in connection with various criminal offences, including organized crime, who are believed to be hiding overseas. According to Colombo Deputy Inspector General of Police Nishantha Soysa, nearly 90 of these suspects are linked to organized criminal activities. The announcement was made at a press conference where DIG Soysa also revealed that 272 automatic firearms have been seized by police during interrogations of organized criminals arrested since last year. These notices aim to facilitate the apprehension and extradition of these individuals to face justice in Sri Lanka.

Police are preparing to bring back 89 criminals who are hiding abroad and have Red Notices issued against them. In recent developments, eight suspects were repatriated from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the night of May 27th. This follows the repatriation of 21 suspects (19 men, 2 women) from the UAE on May 22nd, who are now undergoing investigations.
