Adverse Weather Damages Over 200 Houses Across Sri Lanka

Adverse weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, has caused extensive damage across Sri Lanka, with the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reporting 200 houses partially damaged nationwide. The incidents, primarily occurring between May 10 and May 16, also resulted in one house in the Ratnapura District being completely destroyed. The Kalutara District recorded the highest number of partially damaged homes, with 90 affected, followed by Batticaloa (25) and Gampaha (25). The adverse weather has impacted over 5,200 people, with damage mainly affecting roofs and household items.
